Ideas for next two tattoos

I’m itching for some new ink.  Almost every day, I look through comics, art, etc. just trying to figure out where I can fit more ink on me.  I’ve pretty much narrowed down my next two tats, though there is a third one I’ve been dying to get, just not sure where yet.

The first is working in this crotching Demon, by Jack Kirby, on the curve of my arm.

The second is another Frank Miller, to go with my Marv.  This time, my all time favorite Marvel character, Daredevil (as Matt), standing over Elektra’s grave.  This would be for a coverup on my forearm.  Just have to work out the exact right size and position for each.

Wow! What happen to Sue Richards?

I know Jessica played Sue Richards in the FF movies, but this may be taking it a little far.  No wonder Doom wants to capture the Fantastic Four, who wouldn’t want some quality villian time with this Sue Richards.

M.O.D.O.K CubeeCraft

It’s M.O.D.O.K. week over at Marvel.com.  In celebration of this, here’s one of my favorite CubeeCrafts, M.O.D.O.K.  Go download it here.

While you’re at it, go grab this great Grendel, and other characters from movies, TV, and comics.

I think my head my just explode

I was reading through some RSS feeds, and stumbled upon a reference to Rob Liefeld’s Captain America run back in ‘96.  Let me begin by saying, that Rob is, perhaps more than any other comic artist/creator responsible for a period in comic history that makes me sick.  I like to refer to this period as, “the variant cover era” or how to sucker people out of money with shitty art.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a nice variant cover on occassion, especially if it’s a combo team of artist/writers, like that Lee/Miller variants on All-Star comics.  When you have 2 very different styles, with different takes on an idea.  What I hate, is what happened in the mid 90s, when every issue of every comic seemed to have 20 covers, with each issue trying to “one up” the next.  Lets make it in gold foil, no silver, no adamantium (you know someone thought of that one).

In the early 90s, I worked in several comic book stores, and the one thing that we all agreed on, was Rob Liefeld was the worst comic artist ever.  He was a walking poster child for what the industry had become.  In any case, I was reading an article about Ashley Wood’s Uncanny X-men, and how bad the art was.  I won’t debate that issue, though I sometimes enjoy what Wood does.  In the middle of the comments, someone posted this image:

Dear GOD! What happened to Captain America.  I mean look at those breasts.  It’s obvious that Cap has been taking a lot of steroids, he has developed “bitch tits” and his “package” is, well, gone.  I had forgotten just how horrific this image actually was, and now it’s stuck in my mind again.

As an added bonus, this is one of my other favorite Rob panels:

That’s right, not only was this poor person born a mutant, he was born with 2 thumbs.  Rob, you kill me every time.
